If you want God’s best
Chapter 9
The life of living in the Divine Will rather than simply doing
God’s will is seen more clearly at the Christmas liturgy (cf
extracts below from Solemnity Mother of God) and prayers,
here we realise Jesus had two natures but was one person. We
are one person with one nature (human will), so we need
another person Christ (or DW) living in us eg. our will fused to it
(cf volume 12 below), this becomes what Jesus calls our Prime
Act.
The human person is in the image of God, we lost the likeness
at the fall. Image means we have intellect, memory and wil- the
image of God. How we use these “faculties” gives us “likeness”
to something. This is a challenge, to use them like Jesus, it
takes great purification (Vol 4 below), so the writings of Lucia
are extremely important because they give us the peace and
hope (cf her letter to Sr Remigia) in this process- to know a
beauty is forming in us beyond we can understand (sermon
from second century author below).
As Psalm 35 says “In your light, God, we see light”- Luisa
writings let us see something deeper in God’s Word than
previously imaginable, like a Hubble
telescope. (Cf of St Augustine on Psalm
109)
Luke 8:18 says therefore take heed how
you hear. For whoever has more will be
given”. The words of Jesus to Lucia give
us a deeper hearing of his word, his
promises, so we receive even more. Job
12:11 says “Does not the ear test words
as the tongue tastes food?”. Also in
Exodus 15:26”If you diligently hear the
